The Big Problem
The heavy rains had resulted in a collapse of the cell phone
network. Nisha's land-line was working. But none of the
land-lines, in the housing society where Tania and the other
kids lived, were working. Each of he kids tried calling on
their home phone numbers, but got an automated message This
line is not working. Then they tried calling a few
neighbours and got the same response.
"Sometimes when it rains so heavily, all the phone lines in
a particular area stop working." Nisha told the worried
children.
"But our parents will be so worried" Tania's brows knitted
in a frown.
"My dada-dadi wont know where we are, or when we are going
to get home. They wont know that we are safe. We must get a
message to them somehow. We must!" Sonali was on the verge
